A Poem for Laura

You are my jewel, my joy; 
                         you are my sun-swept beach.

With you, the stars themselves 
                         have been within my reach.

With you, the years have danced.
                         Laughter has lived with me.

Your gentle voice heals wounds, 
                         oh, so gently.

You are my moon;
                         you are my bright North Star.

Thank God for you,
                         for everything you are.
