We Are Not Old

We are not old, who’ve loved so long a time.
You are the boy I fell for at first sight,
That unexpected, heart-of-Texas night.
I am the girl you kissed in blithe star shine.

And then came lilac days and summer green,
Kaleidoscope of fall and snowy pine.
Through all life’s seasons, your heart has been mine.
I love you still, and still, I’m seventeen.

I'm a New York grandma, living in San Antonio. I've been writing nonsense for a few years now, and I think there's enuff of it now to start a blog.
